There is something about giant lizards that seems to really capture the imagination of many little kids. That is why Dinosaur Costumes are always a favorite Halloween costume every year.

Think about it. There have been TV shows, novels, comics and several movies based entirely on the dinosaur. Some of my favorites are the Jurassic Park movies. There is just the right amour of plot to go with the cool and scary dinosaurs.

Since there are so many different kinds of dinosaurs, there are of course several variations of dinosaur costumes. They range from the T-rex to some more dragon looking versions and even fictional characters like Dino from the Flintstones cartoon TV show.

Dinosaur Information

The dinosaurs were diverse creatures. Some where gigantic while some of them were no bigger than your hand. Some lived on land, other swam the sea and still more ruled the skies. We are not really sure of their coloration, or skin texture. Some scientists have made educated guesses based on skeletal remains as to the lizard like qualities of some of the vastly varying dinosaurs.

One of the recent movies about dinosaurs that was rather silly is the Land of the Lost. This is an adaptation of the 1970s TV show. I use to love this show when I was a kid. It was sort of like the story Journey to the Center of the Earth.

This gave girl dress is a mixture of fake fur.  The majority of the biased cut dress is a leopard print that has a tattered hem as if you ripped it right off the beast to drape around your sexy body.  There is a thicker fur sash like piece that swoops up over the shoulder.

Cave girls and cavemen span a huge length of time in our history.  We most readily think of the Stone Age people when we discuss cavemen.  The Neanderthal are but one set of people that lived in Europe, but there are other Paleo-Indian cave people that lived in the Americas.

Most kids love dinosaurs.  There are several dinosaur costumes that you can pick from, but I particularly like the t-rex.   They are not only great Halloween Costumes, but it is also a great party theme and you can always find a rock load of dinosaur party supplies.

Toy Story T Rex Dinosaur Costume
This big green dinosaur is one of my favorites from the Toy Story Movies.  Although he really isnt that scary, he is a great character.  This T-rex is probably one of the silliest prehistoric costumes around.

The T-Rex dinosaur costume has the bright green t-shirt as its base.  The shirt has a dinosaur tail attached to the back and the front tummy has a lite accent color to it, just like the toy.  There are three fingered gloves to make your child’s hands look like the t-rex’s hands and of course there is the giant head mask.

The mask covers the entire head and you can look out the mouth, full of his not so fierce toothy grin.  The big green head  with his innocent looking eyes makes me laugh every time I look at it!

Wear some dark clothing, ore something green under the outfit to blend in.  And this is a great costume to pair up with any of the other Toy Story Costumes.

T Rex Toddler Dinosaur Costume
The T-rex is truly the king of the dinosaurs.  This costume brings back memories for me actually, because when I was young I had a very similar costume and wore it all the time- not just for Halloween.

This t-rex dinosaur costume is a jumpsuit with varying shades of green, gold and white.  The stuffed tail has the pointy scales running down the ridge line and hangs down to the floor.  There are puffy feet that are attached to the bottom of the legs of the outfit and rest on top of your child’s feet.  The puffy hands are similar.  The hood flips up over the head easily and gathers down around the face.  A little face paint would really accentuate the costume.

This costume would be a good dragon look too.

Tyrannosaurus Child Dinosaur Costume
Well, this is probably the most realistic tyrannosaurus costume there is.  It is a plush costume with an oversized head hood that really looks like a t-rex head.  The printed detailing looks like a giant reptile might with hints of scales and color variation.  The attached booties and mittens cover your child’s hands and feet so as they are roaring like a t-rex, they look like one as well.

Dinosaurs were giant beasts in prehistoric times that today we only have fossils to try to understand them.  Their skeletal remains can tell us if they ate plants or were carnivores.

There are several different types of dinosaurs.  The t-rex is one of them but some others are the triceratops, the velociraptor and the brontosaurus.
